Belo Project

BELO is an experimental project, testing the possibilities of how 3d printing can be used as a vehicle for local, small scale production. This allows the bypassing of supply-chain limitations such as part iterations and time loss. Through specific, high quality junctional parts, BELO brings a second life to construction and consumer product waste. Under the guidance of Tom Chung and Guillaume Sasseville.

Coulisses Créatives

The project "Coulisses Créatives" draws inspiration from the backstage of a theater, a hidden space behind the scenes where the real work happens. Located in the heart of the Quartier des Spectacles, on the same block as the Saint-Laurent metro station, the UQÀM arts pavilion reflects its surroundings. The elliptical form was chosen for its geometric properties, offering panoramic views. The atriums cut through each faculty, opening onto Saint-Laurent Boulevard and Saint-Dominique Street. Copper-brass slats partially veil the departments to emphasize their verticality and formal language, inspired by the very essence of the backstage, embodying the fluid movement of set changes. Through this formal gesture, we aim to evoke the dynamic nature of the backstage by playing with their angled shifting. Additionally, the double-height spaces highlight the crucial role of the backstage within this theatrical district. Photography credits : Zahra Bensaidane. Group final project.

Emboîtement Project

The architectural concept of this two-story residence focuses on maximizing daylight from the south and southwest. The living and circulation areas are central and positioned towards the front. Floating staircases with wooden slat railings allow natural light to flow vertically, with skylights enhancing brightness. The rental unit's staircase benefits from an inverted "L" opening for afternoon light. The design emphasizes interlocking volumes, using wood, metal, and red brick to highlight the structure. Sustainability and landscaping that promotes greenery are key features, ensuring a high quality of life for both residents and tenants.
